How credits work

One credit, one page. That's the whole rule.

Credits are spent only when you translate. A digital page costs 1 credit; a scanned page costs 5, because scanned documents are processed with OCR before translation.

Digital page (DOCX, PPTX, XLSX…)
1 credit
Scanned page (OCR required)
5 credits
Image (PNG, JPG, WEBP, HEIC)

Pricing FAQ

Questions about plans, credits & billing

Credits

1. What is a "Credit" and how is it used?

Generally, 1 credit = 1 page for digital documents. Scanned documents consume 5 credits per page due to Advanced AI processing requirements.

Document Types: We support both digital documents and scanned documents with Advanced AI text recognition:

  • Digital Documents: Standard text-based files consume 1 credit per page.
  • Scanned Documents: Image-based documents requiring Advanced AI processing consume 5 credits per page due to the sophisticated computational resources needed for accurate text recognition and handwriting detection.

Page Count: Pages are counted based on the file type (see FAQ #5).

File Tiers: Files are categorized into tiers based on both file size and page count limits:

  • Standard: Under 30MB and under 30 pages. Minimum cost: 20 Credits.
  • Large: Under 100MB and under 100 pages. Minimum cost: 50 Credits.
  • Mega: Under 1000MB and under 500 pages. Minimum cost: 100 Credits.

Credit Calculation:

Within Tier Limits: If a file's size and page count fit within a tier's limits (e.g., a 50-page, 40MB file fits the Large tier), the cost is the higher of its actual page count or the tier's minimum credit value.

  • Example 1: A 15-page file that is 10MB fits the Standard tier. Cost = max(15 pages, 20 credit minimum) = 20 Credits.
  • Example 2: A 75-page file that is 50MB fits the Large tier. Cost = max(75 pages, 50 credit minimum) = 75 Credits.
  • Example 3: A 200-page file that is 150MB fits the Mega tier. Cost = max(200 pages, 100 credit minimum) = 200 Credits.

Exceeding Tier Page Limits (within 1000MB): If a file is under 1000MB but exceeds 500 pages, it requires the Mega tier minimum plus credits for the extra pages. The cost is calculated as: 100 + (actual_page_count - 500).

  • Example 4: A 650-page file that is 200MB. Cost = 100 + (650 - 500) = 100 + 150 = 250 Credits.

Maximum File Size: We currently do not support files larger than 1000MB. Please see FAQ #3 for advice.

3. Why do the file size and page count affect the translation cost in Credits?

Analyzing and retaining page layout and formats involves computational cost, and larger files cost more to process.

Processing documents involves more than just translating text. Analyzing file structure, preserving complex layouts (especially in PDFs and PPTX), and handling embedded elements like images require significant computing resources.

Larger files or files with many pages generally demand more resources. The tier system (Standard, Large, Mega) with associated minimum credits ensures we can cover these processing costs and deliver high-quality, layout-preserved translations. The tiers are defined as:

  • Standard: <30MB & <30 Pages (Min 20 Credits)
  • Large: <100MB & <100 Pages (Min 50 Credits)
  • Mega: <1000MB & <500 Pages (Min 100 Credits)

Important Note on File Size: Files larger than 1000MB are not currently supported. If your file exceeds this limit, please try splitting it into smaller documents. Often, high-resolution images or embedded videos significantly increase file size; consider removing these elements or reducing their quality if size is an issue.

5. How are pages counted and what are scanned documents?

Page counting varies by file type. Scanned documents require Advanced AI processing and cost 5 credits per page.

Page Counting by File Type:

  • PDF, PPTX: We count the standard number of visible pages in the document viewer.
  • DOCX, XLSX, CSV, EPUB: The page count is estimated based on the amount of text. We consider approximately 2,000 characters (including spaces) to be equivalent to one page. For XLSX, this calculation applies to the data within the sheets selected for translation.

Scanned Documents:

Scanned documents are image-based files where text appears as pictures rather than selectable text. These include:

  • PDFs created by scanning physical documents
  • Image files (PNG, JPG) containing text
  • Documents where text cannot be selected or copied
  • Handwritten documents and notes

Processing scanned documents requires our Advanced AI technology to convert images into readable text before translation. Unlike traditional OCR, our Advanced AI provides superior accuracy, fluent text recognition, and exceptional handwriting recognition capabilities. This sophisticated processing requires significantly more computational resources, which is why scanned document pages consume 5 credits each compared to 1 credit for digital document pages.

Our Advanced AI technology ensures the highest accuracy text recognition while preserving the original document layout and formatting in the translated output, even for complex handwritten content.

7. What if I run out of credits during the month?

Annual subscribers will automatically use their bonus credits. Otherwise, wait for your next billing cycle or upgrade your plan.

If you exhaust your monthly credit allowance before your billing cycle renews:

  • Annual subscribers: Your annual bonus credits will be consumed automatically.
  • Wait for your credits to automatically refresh at the start of your next billing cycle.
  • Upgrade to a higher subscription plan if you anticipate needing more credits regularly.

Plans

2. How do I choose the right Subscription plan?

Consider your typical file sizes and monthly translation volume. Start with a lower tier and upgrade if needed.

Consider two main factors:

  • Your typical file characteristics: Do you mostly translate small documents (likely fitting the Standard tier: <30MB & <30 Pages)? Or larger, more complex files (potentially fitting Large: <100MB & <100 Pages, or Mega: <1000MB & <500 Pages)? Choose a plan that covers the file tiers you typically work with (Essential for Standard, Professional up to Large, Premium up to Mega).
  • Your monthly translation volume: Estimate how many page equivalents you translate per month. Choose a plan with sufficient credits (Essential: 180, Professional: 1,000, Premium: 2,500) to meet your needs.

If unsure, you can start with a lower tier and upgrade if you need more credits or need to handle files that fall into higher tiers.

4. How do the Subscription plans work?

Subscriptions provide monthly Credits at lower cost per credit. Each plan handles different file sizes and volumes.

Subscriptions provide a monthly allocation of Credits (180 for Essential, 1,000 for Professional, 2,500 for Premium) at a significantly lower cost per credit.

Each plan is designed to handle different file tiers:

  • Essential: Best for files fitting the Standard tier (<30MB & <30 Pages).
  • Professional: Handles files fitting the Standard or Large tiers (<100MB & <100 Pages).
  • Premium: Handles files fitting the Standard, Large, or Mega tiers (<1000MB & <500 Pages), including files under 1000MB that exceed 500 pages (using the special calculation from FAQ #1).

Your credit allowance renews automatically each month (or year, if you choose an annual plan).

Important: Unused credits expire at the end of your current billing period (month or year) and do not roll over.

Annual Bonus Credits: Annual subscribers receive a one-time bonus equal to one month of their plan's credits (Essential: +180, Professional: +1,000, Premium: +2,500), granted immediately when the subscription starts. These bonus credits are valid throughout the entire subscription year and are consumed only after monthly credits are used up.

6. What if a file is too large for my plan?

Files exceeding your plan's limits require upgrading to a higher tier. Files over 1000MB must be split.

If a file falls into a tier whose limits (size or page count) exceed what your current plan supports (e.g., attempting to translate a Large tier file [>30MB or >30 pages] using an Essential plan), you won't be able to use your subscription credits for that specific file.

You will have this option:

  • Upgrade your subscription to a tier that supports the file's characteristics.

Remember, files exceeding 1000MB cannot be processed and must be split or reduced in size.

8. Can I change my Subscription plan?

Yes! You can easily upgrade or downgrade your plan through your account settings. Upgrades usually take effect immediately (you might be charged a pro-rated amount for the current cycle). Downgrades typically take effect at the beginning of your next billing cycle.

Billing

9. Is there a discount for paying yearly?

Choosing an annual subscription plan offers our best value, saving you 50% compared to paying month-to-month for the same tier. Plus, you receive bonus credits equal to one month of your plan (Essential: +180, Professional: +1,000, Premium: +2,500). You can select the annual payment option during the checkout process.

10. What are annual bonus credits?

Annual subscribers receive a one-time bonus credit allocation on top of their monthly credits. These bonus credits are issued immediately when you subscribe and remain available throughout your entire subscription year. Your monthly credits are always consumed first — bonus credits only kick in after your monthly allowance is used up.

11. Do unused credits roll over to the next month?

Monthly credits do not roll over — your allowance resets at the start of each billing cycle. However, annual bonus credits remain available throughout your entire subscription year, giving you extra flexibility during busy months.

Need a custom plan?

For enterprise customers or those with specific requirements, we offer custom plans tailored to your needs.

* Page count estimates are based on standard document pages. Digital documents consume 1 credit per page, while scanned documents consume 5 credits per page due to Advanced AI processing. Actual translation capacity may vary depending on document complexity and formatting.
